How to Fax from Your Android Phone

Download AvoFax from Google Play
Open the Google Play Store and search for "AvoFax." Install the app, then sign up with your email or Google account. You'll receive a dedicated fax number as soon as your account is created.
Tip: AvoFax works on Android 8.0 (Oreo) and above. We recommend keeping the app updated for the latest security patches.
Start a new fax and add the recipient
Tap the Send Fax button on the home screen. Enter the recipient's fax number with area code, or choose from your contacts. AvoFax checks the number format automatically so you don't waste a page on a wrong number.
Upload or scan your document
Attach a PDF, image, or Word file from your phone's storage or cloud drive. You can also use AvoFax's built-in scanner powered by ML Kit — it auto-detects page edges, corrects perspective, and sharpens text for clean fax output.
Tip: If you're scanning a multi-page document, AvoFax lets you add pages one at a time before sending.
Preview and send your fax
Double-check your pages in the preview screen, then tap Send. AvoFax handles the transmission and notifies you with a delivery receipt — you can check the Activity tab at any time to see fax status.

Does AvoFax for Android support Google Sign-In?
Yes. You can sign up or log in with your Google account for a faster onboarding experience. We use Firebase Authentication so your credentials are never stored on our servers.
Can I fax from Android without Wi-Fi?
You need an internet connection to transmit the fax, but any connection works — Wi-Fi, LTE, or 5G. AvoFax caches your drafts locally so you can prepare a fax offline and send it when you're back online.
What's the maximum file size I can fax?
AvoFax supports documents up to 20 MB per fax. For most scanned documents and PDFs, this is more than enough for 50+ pages.
Can I receive faxes on my Android phone?
Yes. Your AvoFax number receives faxes 24/7. Incoming faxes appear in your inbox as downloadable PDFs, and you'll get a push notification for each one.
Is the AvoFax Android app free?
