How to Get a Free Fax Number
Every AvoFax account comes with a dedicated fax number at no extra charge. We assign you a real local number in your area code so your faxes look professional, and you can start receiving faxes the moment you sign up.

Sign up for AvoFax
Create your account at avofax.com or through the mobile app. All you need is an email address. During signup, AvoFax suggests a local number based on your location — or you can search for a specific area code.
Tip: We use your IP address to suggest a nearby area code, but you can pick any available US area code.

Choose your fax number
Browse available numbers in your preferred area code. Each number is a real, dedicated line — not shared with anyone else. Once you select a number, it's yours immediately and ready to receive faxes.
Start sending and receiving faxes
Your number is live the moment you pick it. Give it out to anyone who needs to fax you, and use it as your sender ID when you send faxes. Incoming faxes appear in your AvoFax inbox as downloadable PDFs.
Tip: Add your fax number to your email signature and business cards so clients and partners know where to fax you.
Common Questions
Is the fax number really free?
Your fax number is included with standard AvoFax plans. There are no separate setup fees for assigning a local fax number.
Can I choose a toll-free fax number?
AvoFax currently offers local numbers with standard US area codes. Toll-free numbers (800, 888, etc.) are not available at this time.
Can I port my existing fax number to AvoFax?
Number porting is on our roadmap. For now, we recommend using a new AvoFax number and forwarding from your old number during the transition.
What happens to my number if I cancel?
If you cancel your account, your number is released back to the pool after a grace period. We recommend downloading any important faxes before canceling.
Can I have multiple fax numbers on one account?
Yes. AvoFax supports multiple numbers per workspace, which is useful for businesses that need separate lines for different departments.
