How to Fax from Your Computer
In our experience, most people who need to fax something are already sitting at a computer. That's why we built AvoFax as a web app first — open your browser, drag in a PDF, and send. No software to install, no fax machine to wrestle with.

Sign up at avofax.com
Head to avofax.com and create your account. The signup takes about 30 seconds — enter your email, pick a password, and you'll land on your dashboard with a fax number already assigned.
Tip: AvoFax works in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. No browser extensions or plugins required.
Click "Send Fax" from your dashboard
The Send Fax button is front and center on your dashboard. Click it to open the fax composer where you'll enter the recipient's fax number and optional cover page notes.
Upload your document
Drag and drop a PDF, Word doc, or image file into the upload area. AvoFax converts everything to fax-ready format automatically. You can attach multiple files and they'll be merged into a single fax in the order you add them.
Tip: For the sharpest output, send PDF files rather than images. If you only have a paper document, use our mobile app's scanner to create a clean PDF.
Send and track delivery
Hit Send and AvoFax takes it from there. You'll see real-time status updates in your Activity feed, and you'll receive an email confirmation when the fax is delivered successfully.
Common Questions
Do I need to install any software to fax from my computer?
No. AvoFax runs entirely in your web browser. There's nothing to download, install, or update.
Can I fax from a Mac or Chromebook?
Yes. Since AvoFax is a web app, it works on any computer with a modern browser — Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook.
What if my fax doesn't go through?
AvoFax automatically retries failed transmissions up to 3 times. If the receiving machine is busy or offline, we'll keep trying and notify you of the final result. You're never charged for a fax that doesn't deliver.
Can I send a fax to an international number?
Yes. AvoFax supports international faxing to 90+ countries. Just enter the full number with country code and we'll route it for you at no extra surcharge.
Is there a page limit per fax?
There's no hard page limit. In practice, most fax machines handle up to 50 pages per transmission reliably. For very long documents, we recommend splitting them into batches.
